Warm sunlight, tall trees, and a white barn reflected in the pond—this wedding at White Barn at Padgett Place in Lacey’s Spring felt like the perfect mix of cozy and playful. The whole day was filled with laughter, relaxed moments, and so many chances to create fun, creative photos. It’s the kind of wedding that reminds me why I love telling love stories in North Alabama.
About White Barn at Padgett Place
White Barn at Padgett Place is a modern barn‑style venue tucked among the trees in Laceys Spring, Alabama. The white exterior, wide open lawn, and peaceful pond behind the barn create a soft, romantic backdrop that looks beautiful in every season. Between the trees, the pond, and the barn itself, there are endless spots for portraits, first looks, and sunset photos.
One of my favorite things about this venue is how calm it feels. Even though it’s easy to reach from Huntsville, it feels private and tucked away, like a little escape in the countryside. It’s perfect for couples who want a relaxed, nature‑filled setting without giving up comfort or style.
The Warm, Cozy Wedding Day
From the moment I arrived, the whole day felt warm and cozy—one of those weddings where you can sense the joy before you even pick up the camera. Friends and family flowed in and out of the barn, fixing little details, sharing hugs, and laughing together, which made it easy to capture genuine, in‑between moments.
The bridal party was incredibly fun and playful, always ready to try something new, whether it was classic, timeless portraits or silly, candid shots that showed off their personalities. Because everyone was so relaxed and open to ideas, I was able to experiment with a lot of creative angles and prompts throughout the day. Some of my favorite images came from quiet moments by the pond and big, energetic group photos in front of the barn—it honestly felt less like “working” and more like spending the day with a group of friends.

Favorite Photo Moments
Some of my favorite moments from this day came from the wedding party itself. The bridesmaids and groomsmen were so joyful and playful, always ready to laugh, cheer, and jump into any idea I suggested. The bride and groom had just as much fun, which meant we could lean into a lot of crazy, beautiful, candid photos that truly felt like them—full of movement, personality, and real emotion.
From big, loud group shots to little in‑between moments when they thought no one was watching, the energy never dipped. It was one of those days where every time I turned around, there was another genuine smile or spontaneous moment worth capturing.
Working with Jana at White Barn at Padgett Place
Working with Jana, the owner and coordinator at White Barn at Padgett Place, is always a highlight for me. I’ve known Jana for over five years, and we’ve become good friends, so every wedding we do together feels easy, fun, and very collaborative. She is kind, organized, and truly cares about each couple, and she also gives me the freedom to move things around and create the best possible photos. When a coordinator and photographer trust each other, the whole day runs smoother—and this wedding was a perfect example of that.
If you’re dreaming of a warm, nature‑filled wedding day with a relaxed atmosphere, White Barn at Bridle Place in Lacey’s Spring is such a lovely choice. It offers that cozy barn feeling, beautiful outdoor spaces, and a team that truly cares about your experience.
